Hello,
We have isolated an issue opening AutoCAD DWG documents, apparently due to a faulty object in a Graphisoft Virtual Array (in English – a programming fault). This occurs with some AutoCAD DWG files, not all.
Using the default DWG translator, we can open the attached DWG file in an “out of the box” Archicad 9 installation (1812 INT FULL) without problems, however updated installations (2018 INT FULL) fail in the following manor:
Soon as the file is selected we get the application busy cursor icon (black & white quarters spinning wheel) for around 30 seconds followed by the OSX generated rainbow coloured spinning “Pizza of death”.
Archicad takes 100% CPU time or more as reported in the Activity monitor.
Archicad has to be forced quit to gain control
The Consol log identifies the programming fault exactly:

This has been repeated on a number of Mac 2Ghz G5s with OS10.3.7/OS10.3.9, 1-2GB RAM. All with the same result.
Obviously, the fault has been introduced by one of the Archicad updates.

Nick Harvey
