To Fabrizio,
Is there any more Parameters (other than those mentioned in the manual) we can use for customizing rail post?
For example, if I would like to make the rail post always perpendicular to handrail; Then, I will have to know the angle of the handrail relative to x-y plane.

Hi LiHigh,

could you be so kind to send me an image showing what you want to get (privately if you want), because I'm not able to figure what do you mean:
what you are asking for should be already provide, posts and newels automatically follow the handrail orientation...

Dear friends I just upload the latest ArchiStair maintenance release (1.08) both for ArchiCAD 8.1 and ArchiCAD 9.

In this latest version I just added two features requested by some of you:

1. a smarter numbering orientation for the 2D symbol (please, look at the previous post in this same thread)
2. a better usability thanks to the 2D hotpots along the stringers perimeter

About the first issue, I’m going to explain you how it works.
1. Enable the tread numbering as before.
2. The numbering orientation follow now smarter rules

As oreopoulos suggested, if you are displaying only the numbers (and not the levels) you can also do something else:
1. select the stair
2. double-click on the Stair tool icon in the ArchiCAD palette
3. in the ArchiStair object parameter you can enable the “numbering fixed angle” parameter and use the below variable (“numbering angle”) to define the angle the numbering texts will follow

Hoping this will satisfied you,
Friendly
Fabrizio

P.S. as usual, if you are ArchiCAD 9 users you can also use the ArchiStair update comman (directly from the ArchiCAD Extras menu) to download this update.

On the web it only mentions 1.07 version of archistair or is it 1.08 and the typing has not been updated?
Thanks,

Fabrizio; I just upgraded to Archistair 1.08 for AC9. When I go in to edit the balusters (stair posts) the list of library posts do not show up in the menu. I checked the Archistair Library, and it does show 12 posts in accessory folder. The Archistair library is loaded through the library manager. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Probably you moved the library from its "proper" place.
The "ArchiStair.Lib" folder should be near ArchiStair (inside the folder that contains the add.on).
The accessories folder (containing the posts) must be inside the "ArchiStair.Lib" folder.

Please, let me know if this is your case...

P.S. if you don't move the library from this place, ArchiStair will automatically load it as soon as you start it.
