Calculating the area of a large group of elements.

How do I calculate the total area of a set of few hundread elements? Just to give you an idea I want to know the total roof area of buildings in an area of about 20 square km.

I also have a problem with the "Show area text" in fill as it doesn't appear anywhere on the fill when I thick the box.

Thanks.

Select the fills, or floor slabs - they should be in a unique layer or have some other easy selection distinction.

Go to: Document/Schedules and Lists/Element Lists/ Basic

You'll get a totaled list of the surface areas.

The "Show Area Text" is probably too small for the drawing scale or you aren't clicking to place it.
