Can't Publish to DWG anymore

Recently upgraded to MacTel from G5 and can no longer puiblish some files to DWG. All worked no problem with the same file on the G5 but now when I try to publish same view, the publisher dialog box just says Failed. And if you double click it says Publishing of the item failed because ArchiCAD was unable to generate it. Can publish any of the views from this particular file. Other files seem OK. Both Teamwork and solo.

This is a huge huge problem. Is this a known bug?

I have had this happen and I think it was caused by the view of a remote ArchiCAD file being set to automatic update type but the view hadn't managed to update. Once I checked all the views I needed to publish and got them updated ok then they would publish ok.

The other way to approach it is to change your views to use the "Manual Update" method. In the Drawing Manager activate the "Update Type" column to appear by clicking on the three tiny dots at the very right hand side of the drawing manager. You can then select all your views in the Drawing Manager list and change them to manual. That way ArchiCAD doesn't try to launch another instance of ArchiCAD and then fail.

One other thing I find useful is to open the remote source file first before opening the ArchiCAD "Layout" file. This can mean you will have as many as 4 copies of ArchiCAD running to print a layout but it does get round the "Failed to update" errors.

ps
I miss Plotmaker I think it behaved better than the new system

could be a network permissions problem... Are you publishing to a directory on the server? If so, can you test by publishing to the local hard drive instead of the server? Try publishing to the desktop if you were using a local directory to begin with.

have had this come up with v9 several times, and the local drive has always worked for us.

Tried all combinations of file location>Publish to location on server and locally. All had issue.

Tried manual update only and also had them all updated "OK" also no good.

Seems that we had an xref of an autocad file from a vendor attached and once that was detached it published OK. Still a bug, but not as huge a problem as the xref was for some temporary planning with a vendor's equipment. The weird thing was even though the equipmnet was deleted the xref still lingered and had to be deleted in the xref manager.

All is well, panic attack is subsiding.

And until this one incident and a quirk in a custom sheet index, I have to disagree about ever enev thinking about going back to plotmaker. Love the layout book included, it's been more or less seemless until this. Well and except for some plotmaker 9 to AC10 conversion issues.
