Thanks for posting the Insight re: The Survey Point.
Our use of IFC for information exchange is growing. and is working well in most instances.
However, we also exchange information with design disciplines and Authorities who do not do BIM and therefore the Survey Point is not exactly useful. The SP allows us to enter georeferenced Northing and Easting, but this doesn't convert when sending our work out as background DWGs. It would be great if the translators could optionally move the 2D drawing to a georeferenced position in AutoCad and or ArcGIS.
We've had submissions rejected because the Authority can't drop our work into theirs without having to drag it into place.

When you export DWG’s from the model you can set the translator to use the survey point or project origin. If you use survey point it will place the DWG data at real world coordinates within AUTOCAD or similar. You have to export from the plan view window through. It doesn’t work from Layouts.

Thanks for that Lee. We were submitting drawings only. We'll test with a paper space version and if that works include it with our submissions as well.
