Hello,

I want to get quantities of Gypsum Wall Board (GWB) of a composite wall, and I want to make sure that what I am getting is right. So I put a single composite wall of 2x4 with GWB on both sides. The wall is 10' long and 8' high. The resulting area for each side should be 80 s.f., and together, 160 s.f.

That is not what I am getting when I use the schedule and list tool for all components. Both areas combined are showing as 7.5 s.f., which is not correct. Please see the attached image. Also the length of the reference line of the wall is shown correctly in inches. How do I change it to show in feet. Thanks.

The 'Area of the wall' will give you the floor plan area (footprint).
You want you use 'Surface area'.
There are a few to choose from depending on what you want (i.e. with or without openings).
Try them all and see what gives the figures you expect.

As for the units you can set those in the 'Calculation Units' in the Options menu > Project Preferences > Calculation Units.

Barry, thanks. Surface Area did it, and it worked.

Barry, is there some thing in Archicad that defines what each of the variables mean?

How is this?

You can also find this in you Reference Guide PDF in the Help menu.
For me it is on page 1477 - but that is the AUS version - may be slightly different for others.
