Hi,
My structural analysis (Risa 3-D) software will be working with CIS2 and not IFC; does ArchiCad work with CIS2 translation Format in any way?
Thanks,
Joseph

If I look around in ArchiCAD I cannot see any such option for file type when saving from either the Floor Plan or 3D Window.
Also, seaching on the net for the two words together does not give many results except this post of yours in Archicad-talk.

Hello Joseph,

You can use CIS/2 to IFC translator and then import IFC file into AC. After recent updates to the software, there is now option to properly import also shanks (without heads though), and ... with a little bit of knowledge of GDL you can add RESOL parameter to the shank Object to control it's complexity.

Good luck.

Hi,

I'm the author at NIST of the CIS/2 to IFC translator that is mentioned. There is a lot more information about CIS/2 and IFC at http://cis2.nist.gov/

At the top of the page there is a link to download the translator. It's free.

The RISA CIS/2 export should be available soon (several weeks) according to what I heard at a conference last week.
