Door Elevations wont show up! Why?

So I have a door legend, the door ID shows up, but not the elevation of the door. Anyone know why that would be?

In case any one else ever has this problem- turns out you have to have 'link properties by criteria' checked under Settings>Listing & Labeling....Took me all day to figure it out though
