I hope that this acquisition doesn't mean that the Encina products such as Objective, free to upgrade until now, will require exorbitant upgrade fees, as is the case with the Cadimage product line.

If Cadimage are the UK reseller as per NZ then I'm jealous. They offer a value proposition to NZ users that is pretty much unmatched elsewhere.

Actually the caliber and breadth of tools is such that I'd like to see GS take over CADIMAGE. the suites could be available to subscription users.
IMHO the kind of thinking GS needs to survive.

Oh dear! Although I like the Cadimage tools and find them useful, the annual upgrade fee from one version of Archicad to the next is exhorbitant, since generally there is little if any functional improvement. I also have Objective and have never had to pay for an upgrade!

With Ralph on board, maybe C.I. will come out with a flexible Truss-Builder?
Hope springs eternal:-)

Props! to Campbell & Ralph for recognizing their respective genii! and doing something about that.

Karl, don't hold your breath, I have been looking for the AC17 version of objective and am pretty sure that there will be a significant cost annually to get it now, will probably have to do without it unless the cost is reasonable and not a hostage situation price >> 'all it takes is money'.

just did a little bit of investigation and it appears that to use objective via upgrade is so far still free, thanks cadimage, hope this lasts for a few years.

My understanding from Cadimage is that the upgrade to 17 is the last free one.
