How to export 2D Elements in the IFC format ?

Hello,

We read and study the entire paragraph IFC Import / Export Setting of User Manual. (AC18)

So we can't export any IfcAnnotation contrary to what the manual says.
We repeated several times, in the plan view and/ or 3D window ( entire project or visible elements) with many different IFC translator parameters ....but nothing appears in the Solibri viewer !!!!

What are we doing wrong?
Does someone has success with this kind of 2D export in IFC format ?
Is it a bug ?

We find nothing on this subject on the official website or elsewhere

Thank you for your help

Hi Masse,

It looks like Solibri does not import IFC Annotations. Other IFC Analysis Applications i.e. Navisworks and Tekla BIMSight are capable of importing IFCAnnotation elements however.

Design applications such as Revit will also be able to import IFC Annotations from ArchiCAD aswell.

I had a look within the Solibri Model Checker Settings but I couldn't find a way to add IFC Annotations to the import therefore I suspect it may be a limitation.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Marcus

Thank you very much for your answer, Marcus.

Shame on us, we would have not guessed that the viewer was defaulting.

The tag code IfcAnnotations is effectively in the IFC file but we have not seen it.

We are often alone with the IFC.... So we'll try with another IFC viewer
