I have a Layout containing 6 Elevations, all using the 'Surface - Texture Fill, Shaded' option for Uncut and for Faded elements, like this:
If I export this via the Publisher, as PDF, the resulting file is a glorious 44MB file (or even more). Which is unusable. I can convert that 44MB PDF file to PNG in Apple Preview, and it drops to 16.7MB. Quality drops, as well, but not not too much.
I just now tried to export directly from Archicad to PNG (instead of exporting to PDF, and then converting in Apple Preview). The resulting file can be anything from 144KB (yes, kilobytes!!!) to over 3MB, depending on the zoom factor of viewing the Layout within Archicad at the moment I hit the Publish button.
Is this documented somewhere? I would have thought that Archicad should export the same information into the PNG, regardless of how big the Layout shows on my monitor.
BTW, this is the level of detail in the elevations:
The Layout is meant to be A1 size (ie 841mmx594mm). But when I view the Layout at this zoom level:
and hit the Publish button, the resulting 144KB file looks like this:
Anyone knows: is this the normal behavior?
