MSA Library Parts

How do you access the grayed-out properties of the MSA Steel parts. I would like to do a detailed estimate of the steel in my building. I can see the specific properties of the beams and columns I've selected, but I cannot get their information on an basic element list.

Brian,

Can you be more specific? Screenshots would help too. Which properties (do you mean parameters or properties?) are grayed-out? What is it that you want to see in your list output and don't?

Also...if you are running 9, you should be switching over to the Detailer parts in the October SE9 library which replace the MSA parts in earlier libraries.

Karl,

Why? Are there some advantages to the newer version?

The same advantages to every upgrade: bug fixes and new features. 😉

Beyond the (few) bug fixes and new stretchy templates, the 'old' MSA manual did not provide any instruction on how to use Detailer with 8.1 or 9.0 which have Detail windows. The manual dated from version 6.5 The new manual and tutorials are written for 9.0.

I will have only sporadic internet access for the next week, so may not be able to respond to this thread. Perhaps someone else can help Brian if he posts screenshots and enough detail to understand his original question.

Cheers,
Karl

Where are the Detailer parts. I can not find them within the AC9SE pla or in any of the Extracted folders that came with the AC9SE zip file.
