Navisworks and ArchiCAD 11

JaredBanks

Is exporting to NavisWorks from ArchiCAD 11 possible? So far my searching on this forum and the internet has not given me any clear answers. I tried calling NavisWorks and got this recorded message "thank you for calling AutoDesk, the office is currently closed..." It's 10:40 am there right now?! Come On!

The point. We're going to be working on an 80,000 sq. ft. project and the contractor wants to coordinate everything through NavisWorks. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Cheers everybody, Don't know if this is being mentioned somewhere else!

NWC Export Utility
The distributable NWC Export Utility enables Autodesk® Navisworks® 2010 project teams to generate whole-project models for simulation and analysis. Users can distribute the exporter so that project team members can generate the optimized NWC file directly from their design applications.

This capability is provided without necessitating a licensed seat of Navisworks 2010 on the same machine.

The NWC exporter works with a range of products, including:

AutoCAD®-based products
Revit®-based products
Autodesk® 3ds Max® software
MicroStation® software
ArchiCAD® software
The NWC file format supports transfer of both object geometry and associated metadata from the design applications into Navisworks 2010.

Does this work in AC11 as the title of the thread implies? Or AC12/13 too?

Unfortunately, I cannot give you a clear answer since I have NavisWorks 2010 Service Pack 1 installed. In the regular installation ArchiCAD 11 & 12 are supported consequently Vico Constructor 2008 & 2009 as well. However, most likely ArchiCAD 11 & 12 are supported in that new utility pack. I will double check with ArchiCAD 13 next week. Stay tuned.
Thanks
