Need Advice on Archicad to Max

I am new to this board and am an Industrial Designer living in Atlanta. I need information pertaining to the transfer of Archicad files to 3d Studio Max 7.0 . Currently the files that I have been able to import have carried incorrect geometry and are unusable for photo realistic rendering. I would appreciate any advice that is available.

You can save the content of the 3D Window as *.3DS format and open that in MAX.
