Been using the space bar to pick up contours on a mesh but half way through it won't let me do it. Is this the polygon count thing....if so, is there a work around?

No, it won't be anything to do with polygon count.
Make sure the mesh tool is active and the mesh is selected, then magic wand the contours.

Thanks for the quick reply Barry.
I have been using the magic wand. It seems to be ok if I start a new mesh but not on the same mesh I have been working on. Maybe its a bug? this is in AC 24

Are you sure your mesh tool is active?
It won't work unless the mesh is selected and the mesh tool is active.

Yep. The mesh is selected and active. I can create a new mesh on the side and it works but when I go back to the first mesh it stops letting me add more points/contours.

I haven't come across that before.
Is the mesh showing OK in 3D? - I am wondering if it has become corrupt - i.e. overlapping points or something.

I did find this post.
Anything to do with the magic wand settings?
Also I found another post mentioning magic wanding lines from a DWG placed in a worksheet and used as a trace reference - that that does not work.
Are you trying to magic wand from a DWG or trace reference?

It shows up in 3D .. maybe its corrupt

Using the magic wand on polylines not the trace reference/dwg

I am not sure what else to say.
It is a case of trouble shooting to see what the problem is.
Drag a copy of the mesh to the side and try adding contours to that.
If that doesn't work then try splitting that mesh in half and try adding contours to either part.
If the mesh is not to complicated, can you re-create it as a new mesh?
Something else you can try is to save and close your file - leave Archicad open.
Now go to the FILE > OPEN menu.
Don't choose from the recent file list, choose OPEN again so you get the open file dialogue box.
There you should see an option to 'open & repair' a file.
Choose that and go browsing for your file and open it.
That may correct any problem if it is a corrupted mesh - it may not as well - but might be worth a try.
Barry.
