Sounds llike a permissions problem. Common especially of you write to a server. Do you have full write priviledges to teh folder youäre writing to?

I had that exact problem yesterday. But not to Studio, just to R.

I tried saving to different places (server + local machine),
saving with short file names and no spaces (older versions of artlantis didn't like spaces in names), and saving without any archicad/camera/material information. Same useless error message.

In the end I marqueed the bit of my model i wanted to render (luckily I only wanted to render one little area) and that seemed to work.

To me this indicates that there is something wrong in the model that Archicad can't write to an .atl file.

But in this particular model there is nothing out of the ordinary - it was built from our office template, using our standard office library parts/materials etc... We export every model we do into Artlantis, using the same standard office template/libraries/materials and have never come across this problem before...

Very frustrating and weird.

As a side note - does anyone else have problems with Artlantis R being ridiculously unstable, I seem to have crashes several times a day at the moment, and can't work out what I'm doing wrong.

I've seen this message when exporting *very* complex models. You might try exporting the model in several smaller packages and then merging them into one Artlantis file. Artlantis can handle huge models, but there is definitely a lower ceiling on what ArchiCAD can sucessfully export.

Suddenly, I wonder if I got a blackout or if I'm really this stupid all the time -
I can't Save As .atl for ArtlantisR, that is I can't find the command. is the plugin missing? Where can I find it (not on Abvent's site)

To save as an ATL file, you must be be in the 3D window in perspective mode. You need not be looking at the model (old trick for fast 3D window generation). File > Save As ... and you'll find *.atl in the list of file types.

I checked - I've got an ArtlantisRStudio_Out.bundle in the Addons/Import-Export folder. It's version Artlantsi_Out version 3.0 build (109) dated May 28 2007.
For some reason Archicad doesn't read it?

Any zero height walls?

When saving the model, look away into the space; the model will be saved, but the memory usage will be less.

The manual for the export plugin is at http://www.abvent.com/support/download/info.php?id=1912&id_pf=2&id_pro=44&id_ver=43
