Spline rendering in DWF/ DWG export

Hi everyone. I am trying to export a profile for a column top tie plate, to be cut out with stainless steel plate with a CNC laser. I am having trouble getting the .dxf or .dwg to export the splines cleanly, without breaking them down into a million tiny little segments (which makes the laser cut erratically, apparently). I saw a related discussion here

but the discussion was mostly about getting splines from 3D profiles; I drew my detail in 2d and just need to export it smoothly. Any thoughts? Surely there must be a setting somewhere I am missing. Screenshot of the detail, as well as how the export looks when opened in Illustrator, enclosed. Thanks.

only one file per post? Hm. Here's the second one, the exported .dxf as seen with AI.

Have you tried tracing over your spline with a Polyline (using magic wand) ? Image below shows my effort, with the pink line being the polyline, and it only deviates slightly from the spline, but for a freeform shape should not be too critical. You can play around with magic wand accuracy settings until you get the best result. The CNC machine might follow the curves of the polyline better.
