Twinmotion Datasmith Exporter not working for Archicad 26 Apple Silicon

Well... basically what I said the subject.

Twinmotion Datasmith Exporter not working for Archicad 26 Apple Silicon

Probably not expecting an updated add-on for a few months. And to add insult to injury, I only found out "after" I uninstalled the MacTel version.

Anyone else experiencing this with the Apple Silicon to Twinmotion export? ...or did I do something wrong?

I had similar experience and response to expect Apple Silicone version of add on sometime next year. Based on timing of AC 27 release I suggested Epic concentrates on next version instead of running year behind with add on. Let's hope that they listen so that we have lovely fully working ARM based systems in place including Twinmotion itself sometime around June 2023.

Is this issue resolved. I still cannot launch an epic games laucher, nor addon for archicad 27... quite bad, since i just bought M3 Pro

Robert,

Twinmotion latest release 2024.1.1 with associated Datasmith export tool in AC27 works on my MabookPro M3Pro machine with Sequoia installed.

However, Epic Games also works well but you have to be patient for initial start of Twinmotion. I am forced to start it couple of times then kill one of the Twinmotion sessions. Ideally you can just bypass the Epic Games application and start Twinmotion separately from icon installed on your machine when you start launchpad. Another thing is when you finish you have to force quit Twinmotion in Activity manager. I would only run Epic Games app occasionally to see if any upgrades to Twinmotion are available.

Otherwise seems to work as fast and as reliably as it was and imports previous versions of files fine as far as my projects are concerned.

In summary bit of patience with starting for the first time with Twinmotion taking about 5 minutes to verify and start.

Sinisa, honestly thank you for your fast and thorough response - i will give it another try and be more patient with instalation process.

Have a great day!

I highly, highly, highly suggest that you do NOT use the direct link add-on. You should simply save out of the 3D window from ArchiCAD as an FBX file, then import that into Twinmotion. When you make edits to the ArchiCAD model, then resave the FBX out with the same name and replace the one previously saved out. Then in Twinmotion, "refresh" the import.

Using the direct link to launch Twinmotion and bring in edits and such is seriously wrought with problems. You'll also have to wait months for the next version of ArchiCAD to be compatible when a new one is released.

Seriously, save out FBX and use that exclusively. Just say no to the plug-in... I promise you'll be happier.

Thank you for your insight and tips!

Yet, trying to work it out i spend the whole sunday trying to succesfuly instal launcer or twinmotion instalation and it just repetitively stayed in update loophole... i check all the possible forums and tried to follow instructions, yet nothing seems to work... dont know what to do - waiting for my last hope to receive support from my local reseler of AC.

That seems to be bit of a problem now. You could try to also put your issue up on EpicGames support board. One last question and just out of the left field. Did you do licence change for Twinmotion from what was originally given to us via ArchiCAD but now became free licence for practices under $1 million US turnover. Oddity of your case is that you can't even install Epic Games launcher and that is unusual in itself. 16.12.1 is current Epic Games Launcher but that was updated throughout the year from original 15.17.1 and that is the only one available to start with.

https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/download. Relatively recently I did the same downloaded, signed in, updated the launcher then it offered to install Twinmotion. Other issue perhaps might be that Rosetta didn't install correctly for conversion.

yes - its an annoying issue - my local reseller told me, that it might be the issue with sequoia update - yet you are using it properly...

Don't know, what you mean by licence change - we just entered the code we got by buying AC and from then it worked fine on computer at the office (windows)

could it be an issue, my second is in iOS?

Tomorrow morning Australian time (12 hours from this posting) I am going to try and install on Sequioa M1 spare machine Epic Games launcher and Twinmotion. If it doesn’t succeed, you will have to raise this with Epic Games support.

Ah - please dont bother to waste your time for solving this... i will find a way to make it work - maybe downgrade to 17 iOS or smt else...

Again, i appreciate your willingness to help - iif the occasion occurs, i will buy you a beer!

Have a great day!
