When will we see an export option to FBX or Twinmotion for ArchiCAD 25?
At the very least, FBX (generic) should be included on the day a new
version ships as it has become an industry standard for 3D import into
(note by moderator: this discussion diverged from another thread, which
you can find here:
I would also point out in your letter that they took a perfectly great

Trying to install ArchiCAD 25 on my laptop. I'm running Mojave so that I
can still use the old ArchiCAD 10 translator version (for opening files
easier than 10, or which I have a lot--some ooooold jobs come back
online). Anyway, I'm getting the repor...
After updating to build 5000, my title sheet with two 3D shaded vector
views, updated, then disappeared. I drag them in again as new, still
white. I create NEW 3D views, same thing. Has this happened to anyone
else where 3D views in the layout disapp...
Apologies if this has been asked and answered somewhere else. I did do a
search for the keyword "Catalina" but didn't see anything on this topic.
Question: Since ArchiCAD 23 was released on the same day as macOS
Catalina [edit: I see now Catalina wil...
Agreed. It's a shame really. It's pretty, but has very low
functionality. There is simply no way to browse all topics by subject or
category and/or navigate to the ones that interest you. Instead we're
presented with posts that takes up about ten tim...
It's a very troubling trend by GS when they do this. The way they
stripped so many functions from the "new" 2020 BIMx, and now eliminating
saving to FBX makes me think that something else is at risk of being
lost; since things come in threes, My advi...
Basically, do not use Direct Links (or Datasmith) at all. With the lack
of FBX, I feel the best method is to save as a SketchUp file, then
import. Future revisions should be resaved to SKP and then refreshed in
The thing about FBX is that it has become the DWG of 3D file transfer.
Plus, the KISS method (keep it simple stupid) works best with FBX. The
old direct-link and now Datasmith linking requires to many pitfalls
compared to simple FBX use. I also use A...
Having said that, I don't usually work with pure modules very much. Most
hot linking is .pln or .tw file into another--such as a building file
into a site file. However, the Attribute Manager is still a useful tool
here as well.
