Warning "can't open in this dialog" when importing sketchup

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi! My question:

Everytime I try to import a sketchup file FILE - INTEROPERABILITY - MERGE I get the warning *can't open in this dialog*.

It used to work this way and I don't know what changed..

I tried saving to & importing earlier versions of Sketchup

I tried dragging the file into Archicad, but that does nothing, no warning but no file imported.

WHO CAN HELP ME?

Are you sure the SketchUp file was saved from SketchUp? Or does it come from some other source?
What is the SketchUP version and what is the ARCHICAD versions?
Can you upload the SketchUp file somewhere so I can download it and try to import it?

It doesn't work with any sketchup file.. And at the end the files are .skp, so they're not from another source.

I also deleted and reinstalled newer and older versions of sketchup and tried again so I don't think Sketchup is the problem, but Archicad is...

I have Archicad 20 and Sketchup Make 2016

Here you can download the file!

I checked the files. For me, ARCHICAD does not give any such error message as it does to you. So using the File>Interoperability>Merge command I can place the SketchUp file normally, and its 2D and 3D both appear correctly (it is a big textured globe in a wooden frame).
On the other hand, when I try to drag and drop the SKP file into the ARCHICAD Project, it acts like it wants to place it but when I click nothing is placed. However, when I then go to the Object Tool and look in the Embedded Library, the generated Globe GSM file is there, I can select it and place it manually. So in this case there problem is with the placement, not the import itself.
I am doing this on the latest hotfix of AC20. I wonder which hotfix you are using, could that be the reason why the Merge works for me but doesn't work for you.

FYI, I also tried this is AC21 and in that version both the merge and the drag-and-drop placement work as expected.
