3D View upside down ?? Help!

Hi,

I've imported a DWG and have started to trace the buildings however, when I go to the 3D view everything is upside down.

Is there any way I can orbit the DWG and trace on the other side so that the 3D view will be the right way? Any ideas why this is happening ?

Thanks

Jus

Maybe when you import the drawing check the "Import as an GDL object" line and once inserted (if it's still "upside down"), open up the object with the GDL menu (File >GDL...) and just add roty 180 to the 3D script and save.
Probably not an ideal solution but it's the only one I see....

Where are you looking at it from?

Maybe it is just a wrong viewpoint.

the DWG is a 3D object?

or maybe: you need to press one of the 3D window 'reset' buttons on the 3D navigation palette?

Upside down problem persist, if model is rendered from perspective top view (see attached screenshot).

p.s.: This is not DWG problem!

the distance between the camera and target is very very small - many this has the effect of flipping it over? bug for sure, but what happens if you use the 'look-to' button to increase the length of the viewpoint?

No, the DWG isn't a 3D object. It's just a DWG opened up in Archicad which I am using to trace in order to get a very simple model from.

I only noticed this 'upside down' problem when I wanted to insert a couple of objects and realised that when they appeared upside down that actually the model was upside down not the objects.

The reset buttons make no difference to it.

Example below.... shows an object inserted (circled).

do you have any cameras placed? and if so do they have a 'roll angle' of 180º instead of 0º?

regardless:
create a new camera with the camera tool ensuring that the roll angle is 0º . . . then select it and open the 3D window. does that work?

running out of ideas . . .

Same result if you use "look to" button.
