Publishing a project from a Mac (OS X) AC 8 to the internet is a problem. There is a known bug (The problem is with the code that is responsible for the communication with the FTP server, and the exact problem is that the upload is done in ASCII mode rather than binary mode).
Therefore I offer you this simple solution.
1. In your AC 8 model, publish to "save files". Put the published project in a folder for later uploading.
2. Launch Fetch 4.0.3 (if you don't have fetch 4.0.3 be sure to download it) and when prompted type in your host and user id & such.
3. Now that you are in Fetch, go find the project that you published to a saved file and upload all of the folders! Presto!
What you have done is bypassed the FTP Uploader in the AC 8 folder and used Fetch 4.0.3 to publish your project to the internet. I tried other FTP uploaders and found that only Fetch 4.0.3 worked.
I hope this is helpful.
