A question about how to put slanted dimension lines.

LeeJaeYoung

The object ramp.
I can't put the dimension line in no matter how hard I try
I had to draw a line with a line and put a dimension line in that line.
Is this the answer?

You don't need to draw the line, use snap guides instead.

Before you try to place the dimension, activate the snap node on the corner or the beam and the snap line on the edge of the ramp.

This will then give you a perpendicular snap guide that you can dimension.

It is similar to placing a line but it is temporary and the guides will disappear automatically when you complete the dimension.

Or you could place a permanent guide segment (the orange guide lines) from the beam perpendicular to the slab.

This guide will remain until you delete it (but it won't print).
