AC28 Skylight Library Object Only Shows Simplified View in Section

I am using AC 28.3.0 on macOS Sequoia on an M3 MacBook Pro.  I have been having difficulty getting any skylight object to show up in the section view. All I see is the hole in the roof. It appears to be set to a simplified setting somewhere, but I cannot find where to adjust it that I haven’t already set. The detail skylight is visible in 3D. It is also a simplified view in Plan View.

I checked to make sure it was in the same existing revision status. I have adjusted the Model View Options and Graphic Overrides to have the skylight settings set to “Full” detail in every setting.  In the past, the skylight library settings would have had a checkbox to adjust the model view options directly. However, all the AC28 libraries no longer have this setting within the library object.

I have not found any discussion of this issue in the Graphisoft Community, and even Perplexity AI was of no help. I presume this is a simple setting that I am unable to locate, and would appreciate any insight other users might have.

We'll I'm embarrassed to say that I figured out what the problem was. It was definitely user error. There is a setting under MVO "Construction Element Options". The skylight was set to "Show Opening Only" instead of "Show Entire Skylight". Thank you, everyone, for your suggestions. I had no idea there were so many ways to hide a skylight from view.

Is the Section on the left screenshot using the "Plans - Documentation" MVO Combination shown in the right screenshot? You should see it on the Options Bar below the Section Window.

Hi, and thank you. Yes, it is using the same "Plans - Documentation" MVO.  Just for fun, I also tried every other MVO that I have set up, and it always has the same result.

What is the name of the Skylight Library Part you are using, and which library or library pack is it located in?

It's the "Skylight Flat Panel" and is in the Basic Library. I have attached a screenshot. This situation occurs with all the skylights in this library pack.

Maybe the 3D Detail Level setting in not set to "By Mode View Options".

Using the following settings I could get the same result as you. In this case, Model View Options settings are disregarded.

Thank you. I'm afraid that I do not have a "Detail Level..." setting option in my library.  Also, I just checked, and I have the most up-to-date libraries. I also tried unloading and reloading the Skylight Libpack to see if that would help. It didn't.

I see. I guess you are using the Ac28 version while I was checking the Ac29 Tech Preview version first.

I do not see anything else in its settings that would make it disappear in section like this.

I am supposing that you can see the 3D geometry of the Skylight in 3D, it is only the Section that is the problem.

There are two other things I can think of, both can be View-specific:

  • Design Options - it is in a Design Option not visible currently, or
  • It has a Renovation status that hides it with the currently active Renovation Filter.

I have something similar happening to stairs from time to time. I see them in plan but not in section or elevation. I found out that changing their renovation status, for example from Existing to Demo and back solved the issue.

Thank you, I have checked the Renovation status, and everything in my model is in the Existing option since it is a new design.  I also checked my Design Options and can confirm that I have no Design Options besides the "Main Model". Maybe I should look into using the Ac29 Tech Preview.
