Beam cover fill disappears with "core only" structure display

Can I get a cover fill for a complex profile beam to display when the structure display is set to "Core Only"?

The cover fill displays when the structure display is set to "Entire Model" or "Without Finishes" but disappears when set to "Core Only". I want the cover fill to display all the time.

The complex profile is a mix of core and finish components, if that makes a difference, and the cut plane goes through the middle of the beam which is set to display "Projected with Overhead"
