Can Plotmaker show OpenGl renders?

Is Plotmaker supposed to be able to show OpenGl renders?

I can import 3D views rendered with ArchiCAD's Internal Engine but the 3D views rendered in OpenGL import into Plotmaker as solid black boxes--nothing showing.
Thanks,
John

No, as they are generated bu BG ArchiCAD which does not fire up the screen. OpenGL views require the 3D window to be on.

OOPS!

Have to correct myself - OpenGL views go to PlotMaker jsut fine, and I am really kicking myself for posting the wrong info here!

Sorry, John and others. Save the 3D view, generating it in the 3D window, and it will come to PlotMaker as it was.

This is 8.1 R2, of course; don't remember whether this was the case in R1.

Yes it was - however from my experience, the black box occurs when multiple copies of AC are trying to display OpenGL at the same time. Try closing down additional copies of AC - or at least their OpenGL windows.

Link.

Funny ... today I was having two ArchiCADs open, and two PlotMakers, updating (meaning two more ArchiCADs), and all the OpenGL views came through. Must be the memory thing - whether you have enough or not.

That must be it - I haven't tested it or anything.

Thanks!

Djordje, Link,
I haven't tried this to place an OpenGL 3D view in Plotmaker since these last posts. Now that I have a new machine up and running I thought that I'd give it a try again. I am still getting the solid black box where the drawing is placed. I tried it with everything else shut down and still no viewable image.

Is there anything else that I can do to get the OpenGL view to show in Plotmaker--a setting or something?

Thank you,
John
