Dimension tool needing multiple clicks to place dimension string and text

I lecture in a college in Auckland and one of my students today had an issue where using the dimension tool , she chose her reference points of measurement but when trying to place the dimensions string, she had to click her mouse about 6 or 7 times for the dimension to be placed.

Has anyone ever had this kind of issue before and if so , any chance you can offer a solution please?

I guess that you would have already checked the actual mouse ?

I have had similar issues with my gaming mouse left click button not working on the first click.

Once you pick all of the points to dimension, you must double click to then be able to position the dimension line.

The speed of the double click is important.

Too slow and you will just be picking more points to dimension.

Oddly the 'backspace' key also works instead of a double mouse click.

'Enter' will also just keep adding point to dimension.
