Labelling individual surfaces of an object

Is it possible to label the individual surfaces of an object using existing labels?
I've tried the various labels in v19 and not having any success.

If not, is it possible to script a label to do so?

I think it is not possible or it is quite complicated.
One way to get what you want is to explode into morphs and then you can label one by one the parts of the morphs.
