Layout Book Lag- Speed up

Kaihaku

Sorry if this has been discussed. I did a brief search and didn't find.
I am running ArchiCAD 19
Windows 10 Home (64bit)
Intel i-7-4790K Quad Core 4.0 Ghz
500GB SSD
32GB SDRAM DDR3 1600

Originally running a Quadro K2200 4GB graphics card. It broke, so I put in a
GeForce 8400 1GB temporarily (warranty sending a replacement Quadro).

My question is about the Layout Book and getting it to run faster.
With the Quadro it was much much faster than the GeForce, but I didn't feel it was quick.
What aspect of the computer could be upgraded to get the Layout Book to be quicker?

As side note, the change in the graphics card hasn't really affected the speed in 2D and not very noticeable lag in my small 3D- but really slows the work in layoutbook.

Thanks in advance for any input!

That 8400 is 10 year old hardware though and was entry level already at launch. I would guess it is the cause of the slowdown, as your other specs are more than enough to run ArchiCAD smoothly.

It might also not run well with Windows 10, being such an old card.

Also, check the views you are placing and see how many elements are on that view.

I once had to work on a 3rd party project that had a worksheet with more than 10000 lines/arcs on it due to lots of horrible exploded DWG stuff being pasted around with lots of duplicate items.

The view worked well enough in worksheet, but the placed drawing brought ArchiCAD to a crawl.
