Length of a line

Does anyone know how to tell the length of a line without having to dimension each time. I am working on a plumbing layout and would like to be able to highlight a line and figure out how long it is.
My brain still has the Autocad garbage in it and I can't seem to figure this out.
thanks

John,
Use the Element Information palatte. Go to Window/Palattes/Element Information. This will do exactly what you need.

It is a new feature in Archicad 10. Check out the New Feature guide for more detail.

I still prefer to relocate the user origin and find my measurement in the coordinate box.

I do too... it's just a little harder to explain sometimes.

A tip:
If you need to total the length of a series of lines.... trace them using the polyline tool... then use Element Information.

For this situation, the Element Information works really well. No extra measuring and the information is always present and changing.
I didn't know about the measure tool and it works really well. Thanks for everyones help.
