Moving Interior Elevation Markers to a New Layer

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am working on a project the has all of the interior elevation markers shown on one particular layer. I would like to separate the standard interior elevation markers from the ones that I want on the enlarged plans. When I select any of the interior elevation markers the layer setting is greyed out and will not let me move the marker to a different layer. I do not know if this was set-up this way be the previous person working on the project (who is no longer with this employer) or not. Can you have interior elevation markers on separate layers?

The trick is to select the extent line and not the actual section line or marker.

No. It does no good to select the extent line. The hidden line may happen to be in the same spot as the extent line, but that is not the line that needs to be selected. You have to select a hidden line that can not be seen when you select the marker. It is difficult to select this hidden line because it may have been moved around or in a place you would not expect. This is why you will probably need to select it using the marque tool. This is the hidden line that needs to be selected.
