Partial Screening

I am working on a project which will have phases for future developments. I would like to show the phase of the development the will be built later in screened (lighter) mode. I tried overlaying two duplicate drawings with different pen sets on the Layout sheet with the top one partially covering the one below. When plotted I could not see the difference. I realized the reason being I had to choice of Plot with Color or Grayscale or Black & White selection only. Is there any another way around this?

Really? We do this all the time. You should be using a "black" pen set and a "gray" penset -- try printing (not plotting).

Laura:
I did not have to try Print instead. In the Dwg. Selection Setting I chose "Screened Pens" under Pen Set instead of "Grayscale Pens" under Color.
It worked.

Thanks for your response.
