Plotmaker 9 Slow loading and update

These are two items but possibly related. We have a 300 meg layout book which worked fine in Plotmaker 3 but was recently updated. The file loads in about the same amount of time (couple of minutes) but then in 9 (but never in 3.1) the Navigator goes through what I will call a registration process where the file show up in the navigator one by one and the size of the scroll bar adjusts accordingly. This also takes a couple of minutes so we now have a 5+ minute process opening our layout book. Any suggestions as to what is going on and how to fix it?

Possibly related? When we update drawings through the drawing usage window we can get up to a 15 minute pause before we get the drawing open dialogue box, or if the drawing isn't open it takes that long to start BGArchiCAD and start updating. If we are in the sheet in the drawing tree and select update the update starts immediately.

Any help on either or both items would be appreciated.

I have definitely noticed increased time to update drawings although no where near 15 minutes. The increase in time seems to be related to opening the back ground archicad, since updating multiple drawings is not substantially longer than a single drawing.

I would agree with that, but to clarify, the long wait is before BGArchiCAD even opens.

Shooting in the dark (11PM here):

- where are you opening the file from?
- where are all the related files?
- what antivirus software are you running?
- if opening over a network, what happens on the same network at the same time?
- what other apps work at the same time?
- where is your protection key?

Answering in the light, but still in the dark.

-where are you opening the file from?
Typically off a server, but we tried copying it locally and still had the same delay. Also turned off all networking and still had the delay.
- where are all the related files?
They resided on the same server or when we copied it locally we copied everything locally and relinked. Same problem. We get the delay even if we are updating only one drawing.
- what antivirus software are you running? Norton, but it's an all Mac office and its currently not on. It was causing too many problems.
- if opening over a network, what happens on the same network at the same time?
Everything pulls off the server but Plotmaker 3.1 handles it OK.
- what other apps work at the same time? Typically lots, but we have tried it with Plotmaker being the only program running.
- where is your protection key?
Directly on the computer. It seems to be a file issue though because 4 computers all have the same issue.

I'm open to suggestions.
