Plotmaker not refresh/redrawing

A few computers in my office are having problems with Plotmaker (AC 9), which are as follows:

#1 - When going to a new layout page, the layout window sometimes goes all white or all background colour. A variety of things fix this depending on what mood Plotmaker is in - sometimes Redraw works, sometimes Rebuild works and usually Fit to Screen works.

This problem occurs on 3 computers that all have the same harware config:
(WinXP Pro SP2, 2.7ghz Intel P4, 512mbRam, nVidia Quadro4 750 XGL video card w/ 128mb ram)

#2 - All the computers in the office (most with the above spec, others with higher) have experienced wierd screen refreshes, where sometimes the screen will refresh every couple of minutes, but only in Plotmaker. At first I thought it was my monitor about to die, but other people in the office have had the same problem, even with reasonably new monitors.

Both of these problems happen no matter what other programmes are running, and even if nothing else is running...

Any ideas?

Yeah, we've seen this problem using ATI 9700 tx cards. If memory serves, GS could not reproduce this. No real workaround except that I think restarting PM might cause it to behave normally again (for a while).

You can always try updating the drivers from Nvidia's web site and see it that helps.

#1 - in your nVidia settings, do you have Vertical Synch turned off?

#2 - this sounds like a known issue. I find that if I switch to another application, that PM refreshes itself on the other monitor while I'm in the other app (browser, e.g.) ... also there is some bug that causes drawings to be refreshed up to 3 times. It is normally not visible, but on my cover sheet that has several large (10's of thousands of lines) vectorial hatched perspective line drawings, I can watch them get repainted over and over. Reported during beta testing.
