Plotmaker paper size for HP 1055cm

We just got this machine. We have a project in progress that is based on 30" paper. We have a 30" roll in the machine. The plotter options allow us to choose 36", 24", 18".

How do we set up the plotter settings for our paper size as there is no roll size for 30"?

I would hate to change paper sizes at this point.

use the custom page size instead of roll feed selection. see attached screenshot

I do wish that GS would include 30" roll feed as an option. It seems like it would be simple enough to do.

Terrence, would you like to do the wish list honors?

I will add this to the WISH list for Plotmaker

So the best option would be a custom page size versus the Architectural 30/42 page size?

there is a page size option. I was wondering if this option would make the HP 1055cm ask for cut sheets versus a roll.

I will try this option out to see what will happen by choosing the Architectural 30/42 with a 30" roll installed.

Be back later.

Back so much later than I hoped.

But I ran some prints using the "sheet" sizes. And no problems seem apparent at this time.

Of course, you will hear from me again should there be. But for now things seem to be easy to deal with.

So this make me wonder. Why have the roll settings? Unless it is there for creating paper sizes that are not of the standard chart like 24" x 60". Then I can see using the roll setting. But for other work when you are requiring a set size sheet, it would seem that GS wants you to use the settings of a cut sheet and not the roll.

What do others use in their settings? If you have a plotter with a roll feed, do you have Plotmaker or AC set for a roll size or a paper sheet?

for my 24" dj500 i set roll size in pm3.1x to 24". that is what fills in the "y" setting. guess i have not tried it other ways. i see where you guys would like 30" to be an option!
btw, is it faster plotting to a 42" roll vs a 30" roll?

never seen a plotter with a 42" bed...

but plotting 24x36 on 36 roll seems a tiny bit faster to me than plotting on a 24" roll. the 1055 is so dang fast on draft quality though, I hardly notice. by the time I get back to the plotter, the thing is already falling off the bed...

that 1055 sounds great!
both the 500 & 800 series come in either 24 or 42" versions. not sure how they came up w/ that. i figured the 1055 would also have that capability.
