Renovation Filters and placed views - Existing and Proposed - Update type: Auto

C Lonie
Contributor

Hello, I am setting up 2 drawings, Elevations as Existing and Elevations as Proposed, from a house model.

So ive placed the views on each drawing (2no.) and when I  modify course view settings...change renovation filters to existing and proposed, they automatically change the elevations in both drawings to the last change, i.e all existing or all proposed, update type is auto, do I have to change the update type to manual? or is there something im missing here?

thanks

I am not sure exactly what you have done as you might not be using the correct terminology.

This is what you should be doing.

This is just one way to save the views.

In the Project Map, there will only be one elevation 'view point'.

For this view point, you manually set layers, scale, pens, renovation filter, etc.

So set it up as you want to see it for the 'existing' elevation.

Now right mouse click on that view point in the project map and choose 'save view'.

Now do the same but change the settings for the elevation on screen to the 'proposed' renovation filter.

Save this as a 'view' also.

In the View Map you will now have 2 'views' for the same elevation.

You can rename them and move them around if you want.

Each view has its own settings, which you can change if need be.

Now open your layout and drag the 2 views from the view map onto the layout page.

Arrange and crop as necessary.

Each drawing on the layout will now have its own settings based on the view saved in the view map.

Any changes you make to those views will automatically be seen on the layouts.

Changing the settings of one view will not change the other.

But change the actual model and those changes will be seen in both views/drawings, each view will still have their own settings for how you see the model.
