Spell Checker

I am curious what "drawings" spell checker looks at. If I turn on and unlock all layers, will spell checker look at all of my plan, section/elevation, and detail views? Whats the best way to check all of the spelling in a drawing set and be assured that all words have been checked. I have searched the archives, read what comes up in the help menu and ran a few tests but am still a bit baffled. Thanks for any insight.

Hi Mike

Have you checked out the Spell Checker Preferences (available from the Spell Checker dialog)?

I'm pretty sure it will check all S/E's regardless of what Stories you have selected.

Cheers,
Link.

Thanks Link. That probably accounted for the different # of words that were checked from different windows.

I have checked the LABEL but still the spell checker does not find some obvious words miss spelled like USEE!
Any other settings?
Thanks,

is USEE written in all capitals? I'm not sure about the ArchiCAD spell checker, but most spell checkers will overlook words written completely in capitals, they typically assume they're acronyms... just a thought

I've noticed that the spell checker works with out text which is in all capitol letters but if we have more than just one label tool text selected it misses misspelled words.

If only it actually worked like it was inteded!

But that is how it is intended. It will correct anything you have selected, or if nothing is selected, it will check everything, as set in preferences. So the question is: why select anything in the first place?

I can label every USEE and usee in my project and have the spell checker correct them all.

What I meat to say is (that in the past not all the times) it misses the misspelled words in the 2 label tools we have selected. If we only have 1 label tool selected it will correct all misspelled words.

And we need to select things because we are working on a building with 30 different tenants with 30 different sets of dwgs going out at different times.

I always use CAPS LOCK for typing any text or label.
To my disbelief, the Labels do not get corrected when in upper case (in plan, did not check in detail windows), this is a BIG BUG.
Could someone check this if it is so?
Thanks,
Joseph

Are you sure you haven't accidentally added the word USEE to your dictionary? It may be worth testing (on a separate concurrent version of AC) by removing your current dictionary in the Spell Checker Preferences>Language and dictionaries.

Bit of a longshot so if it doesn't work, close that version of AC first just to be sure.

As I said, it works fine for me. Why not upload a mod of these labels and let others test it?
