Spell check and MS office

So went to do a spell check today. Wasn’t working.  So investigated and learned I needed reset MS Office.  It works now.  Yeah…but…what if I want to move away from micro-slop completely?  (I hear there are good alternatives now.)  Will archicad spell check not work, or will it, can it, link to the alternative, whatever it is?  (Isn’t much of Europe also moving away from micro-slop?)
