Vector formats in AC 10

Hello,
I am working on an AC 10 project and I am making a layout
containing various views.
I have published the views into a folder
and then placed the drawings in the layout via
"place external drawing".
I have tried every vector format available in the
publishing format options and all of them except
PDF display all lines with the same line weight
even though the plan window shows various line weights.
The PDFs when placed in the layout are fuzzy and indistinct
especially if the PDF is an image of the 3D window.

I can only think that I am missing some setting
as an output issue so basic has surly been addressed
by Graphisoft.

My question is how do I get a vector format file
to display line weights correctly and how to
make PDFs that are crisp and sharp when opened
in Adobe Reader to appear crisp and sharp in a layout.

Thank you,
Peter Devlin

Can't you just drag the viewpoint or view into a layout and then put that layout into a PDF publishing set, avoiding all the external stuff? Works perfectly here.

Link,
Thanks for posting back.
I did not know that one could drag views into a layout.
Do you mean this literally ?
Do I drag an icon for the floor plan, for example,
from the Project map on to the layout, or from the
View map on to the layout ?
Thanks,
Peter Devlin

You can drag from either the project map (a viewpoint) or from the view map (a view) onto the layout. If you do the former, ArchiCAD will create a view for you, based on your current settings (layer combos, scale, model view option combos, scale, dims, zoom). Then you can include that layout in your publishing set.

To find out more, go to the ArchiCAD 10 News Features Guide in your Help menu and check out Using Drag and Drop in Navigator/Organizer on p46.

Cheers,

Hello Link,
Thank you for the information.
I just tried dragging the icon for the 3D view from the View map
and it works. Interestingly, the drawing is identical with
the drawing made by copying from the 3D window
and pasting as lines and fills in a 2D window.

This method is easier and "avoids all the external stuff".
It is curious that the vector formats apparently don't work.

Thank you again,
Peter Devlin
