Wrap Keynotes still not fixed after over two years

Wrap still does not work with Keynote labels, in fact it's now even worse in Archicad 30 as clicking wrap text doesn't return it to the frame size of the previous label settings; you manually have to resize every single placed label if the description's more than a few words.

When's this getting fixed? It's been two years and I have raised this multiple times across multiple versions and at this point I'm tempted to start a new thread every week until it's addressed.

I was told it was getting fixed in 28, then in 29, then I raised it in the AC30 Beta, and now 30 has released and not only is it not fixed, it's somehow even worse than it was before.

This is a broken feature from two years ago and Central Innovation got it right the first time.

When's it getting fixed?

Hi @Kalib Stewart

We are still working on it, but found the changes caused other issues and require data structure changes (so proved more tricky that we expected), therefore we will be unable to release in a hotfix or update - to avoid breaking file compatibility. In AC30 we fixed an issue where the turning off wrap text would cause the text box to enlarge to a generic fixed size.

The CI solution was to use a GDL based label instead of an easily editable autotext label.

Appreciate that James, and not to be personal towards the development team, but it’s been 2 years of this issue, every single label placed needs to be manually dragged back to a correct size. Spread that across hundreds of labels across hundreds of drawings in a large project and it is killing productivity in a tool that was supposed to speed it all up.

And if we’ve learnt one thing about Graphisoft, when this is eventually fixed they’ll lock it behind a new archicad version which will require an on-going subscription despite the fact this was released in Archicad 28 for the perpetual versions and should have been working then.

Archicad 30 now and it’s not even on the horizon anymore. Hard not to be cynical.
