Hello,
I'm not an Archicad user but I represent a Reprographer that receives .plt files from architects that use it. Our problem is trying to explain to the customer the correct way to create a plot file for black and white printing. The user either gives a plot file that is all color (which results in an all gray plot including borders and title area) or a plot that is totally monochrome (black line work, black borders, but solid black filled areas which should be gray). I'm only familiar with Autocad and advise those clients to map all of their pens to black and set a screen % for the pen they use for fills. Is Archicad similar? I would love to get this resolved and so would the client!
Thanks,
Jeff Young

The best solution is to assign a pen table ("Pen Set" in AC10) to the drawings in the layouts which defines most pens as black while retaining any grays (and perhaps colors) that are desired for printing. There has bee quite a bit of discussion of this in the past so a quick search on "Pens" or "Pen Sets" should bring up a lot of information.
