intersect roofs planes

i guys can anyone tell me how to intersect roofs i try to do as they on help but isntead it shows the roof elevation dialog box thanx

Select one roof, CTRL-click (PC) or COMMAND-Click (Mac) on edge of roof to extend/trim to selected roof. Then do the same again with 2nd roof selected.

The key word there is EDGE. That is you must see the mercedes cursor when you click. The Roof Elevations dialog appears when you miss the edge and click inside the roof's contour.
