GLD: Non-snapping Hotspots

Lingwisyer

Hi all, I have a whole lot of hotspots to change various settings, but I do not want to be able to snap to any of them, so is there a way to disable the snapping to a hotspot, or to exclude drawing it unless the object is selected? I was hoping there was a selection dependant version of GLOB_PREVIEW_MODE...

Not that I am aware of.

The only option I think is to have a master switch (boolean) that can turn the hotspots on or off.

You could link that to a hotspot switch itself, so you would only have that one hidden hotspot when that switch is off.

That way you can turn the other hotspots on/off without having to go into the object settings - but you will always have that one hidden hotspot when the object is not selected.

I am considering using one in place of a static corner hotspot that snaps back to the corner after modification.

So you have a controlling hotspot switch that turns on the other hotspots.

Then any modification to ant parameter (i.e. other hotspots) automatically switches off the controlling switch.

That should work if you only want to modify one parameter at a time.

What would be good is if you could modify any number of parameters (other hotspots) and when you deselect the object, the control switch resets to off.

But I am not aware of any way to detect when the object is unselected.

GLOB_FEEDBACK_MODE came to mind, but you have to be physically adjusting the object for that to be recognised.

I use that to draw a rectangle around object text as i move it.

As soon as you stop dragging the text, the box disappears.

My corner hotspots are always visible, so this hotspot only toggles non-corner ones.

Yeah, I did at first think of GLOB_FEEDBACK_MODE but that only controls object redraw while mid modification...
