I hope the next version of archicad doesn't not support PPC, that would mean that half of my office would be out of luck and my personal system at home (a G5 quad $5000 2.5 years ago is also not worth it's weight in gold even though it still can keep up with an intel machine.)
Well, at the risk of switching a Developer forum topic into a general discussion...
You'll note also that Apple is no longer supporting PPC with OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) which is arriving in a few months. It will be interesting to see when Apple drops PPC support from their applications software.
It is a challenge that drains resources from GS to maintain the PPC as well as Intel platforms, so I am sympathetic to their decision.
Note that your PPC will be able to continue to run Leopard and AC 12 and all of your other current apps indefinitely of course... so to the extent that the economy is killing all of us, I suspect some people will just hang on to their PPC machines and old versions for a while and postpone upgrades.
Old PPC macs can make decent servers, so even if you don't keep them, you will find a resale market.
