roof layout - native in GDL..

Did anybody ever script a roof layout as a term for floor plan representation of roof surface divisions in GDL, like the function, which is implemented in the rooftool itself? It seems to be an impssible task for AI's - no matter which. If you have a freeform polygone, it should result in the same form, as the rooftool makes it.
