4K laptop screens justified ? #productivity

So does 4k on a 15 or 17" laptop equate to more screen real-estate?

i'm tossing up getting a new 17" laptop to increase my productivity whilst drawing away from my desk, but i'm unsure if it actually beneficial to drawing ?

i did a quick comparison bewteen a macbook pro 4k and my current 15"1080p screen with the same file, and to me it didn't really looked like there was no gain? Most things are crisper on a 4k it seem though.
am i missing something ?

I have 2 external monitors for my desk, a benq32 (3k) & 27 benqRL 1080p.

I just want something lighter than my existing brick I've been carrying around.
gone with a metabox alpha for now,
17", core i7 8750h, 1080p, gtx 1060, 32gbRam & samsung 970evo ssd

thanks ppl

Fom watch these Youtube channels: they state that anything than 1080p on a 17" screen brings diminishing results, so unless there is a practical and essential reason to use a higher dpi screen, maybe it may not be economically wise.

There is also the fact that driving a 4K screen will take more resources meaning lower performance, which may or may not be noticeable, and a shorter battery life which reduces portability. If you are using it as a desktop replacement portability is less of an issue, but you are better off buying an external monitor instead...

I have a 4K screen on my HP Studio G3 laptop (15inch) and drive it at 125% scaling (which equates to approx 3070x1728 pixels) not 200% scaling which is default as I want more real estate. For me a resolution of 1920x1080 is just not enough.
