AC7 quickview prefs won't stick!

Recently I can't get 3D quickviews to stick - can anyone offer a workaround?

The 3D quickview saves nicely, but when I return to it, the 3D window goes black, the view reverts to BLOCK, the layer combo doesn't come in.

Very predictable at this point.

(This seems a more annoying relative to the less annoying glitch where the 3D background color to reverts to BLACK unexpectedly).

Any advice? Thanks.

Not too many people still using 7, I think. I can't remember the last time I launched it. It was before 8.1 anyway. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Thanks Matt. Fair enough! I know we're behind the times here, still using 7... Call me a troglodyte!

Any other 7v3 users out there on Mac OSX. If nobody else has this problem, then I'll re-install AC and hope for the best. I've already tried all the usual fixes: new and reset, trash the prefs file, etc. Even merged a new and reset file into my model per some advice given in this forum. All for naught: 3D quickviews still revert to BLACK background, DRAFT contours, and BLOCK image.

Weird, frustrating, time-consuming.

trog·lo·dyte(n.)

1.A member of a fabulous or prehistoric race of people that lived in caves, dens, or holes.

2.A person considered to be reclusive, reactionary, out of date, or brutish.

3. An anthropoid ape, such as a gorilla or chimpanzee.

4. An animal that lives underground, as an ant or a worm.
<jargon> (Commodore) 1

5. A hacker who never leaves his cubicle.
The term "Gnoll" (from Dungeons & Dragons) is also reported.

6. A curmudgeon attached to an obsolescent computing
environment. The combination "ITS troglodyte" was flung
around some during the Usenet and e-mail wringle-wrangle
attending the 2.x.x revision of the Jargon File; at least
one of the people it was intended to describe adopted it with
pride.
