Archicad for windows with High res screens?

Just wondering if there are any plans to update AC to work well with high resolution windows machines? I just got a 3200x1800 laptop and I really like the screen. It's set to scale text and icons up and AC works just fine in that mode but since the geometry is scaled up, it's jaggy just as it would be on a lower res monitor.

I can turn off the scaling and the working window looks fantastic and sharp but the icons and menus of course become tiny.

I think AC was updated for mac retina screens so I'm hoping a similar move is planned for PCs - anyone know?

thanks

This is more of a hardware issue, so I've moved it to this forum.

Your signature says you're on AC 12. If that's the case, then you won't see a solution. I you're on 16 or 17, let us know.

Hi Chris,

I have a similar issue so though I would add it to the mix. I use a high res monitor 2560x1440 due to some visual impairment. While I can adjust the native windows settings to 150% to make things easier to read, ArchiCAD does not perform so well. The main issue is that menus in ArchiCAD cut off text and you cannot see how to make selections properly.

I have raised this issue a few times over the past three years, but have had no real interest in it as far as I can tell.

Hopefully with more people raising this issue, it will get some attention.
Regards

Thanks - I've updated my signature to show the correct AC 17 info.

My question was more directed at the software although it certainly relates to the hardware as well. My understanding is that AC software was updated to make best use of Mac retina displays and I'm wondering if there are any plans to make a similar update given the moves on the windows side toward high resolution "retina" displays.

I may wrong but unless a software change is made, I believe we have two choices working on AC on a high res screen:

1. Scale it up to make menus and icons more readable, but this also scales up the drawing window and eliminates the benefits of the high res screen.

2. Leave scaling at 100% to make the drawing windows look there best, but suffer the tiny text and icons.

Chris, if you're comfortable tinkering with the registry, you can experiment with the setting given in this thread:

Do let us know what you find.

I gave it a try and set the registry value to my screen dpi (275) but it did not appear to have any effect at all. Thanks for the idea though!
