Today I have started drawing lessons. I have drawn a simple house with some jogs in the walls. On top I put a hipped roof. The 3D view looked OK, but when I moved around with the orbit function I got the beach ball, ...freeze.
Now this should not happen to a nice, old, guy like me. A simple exercise: a one-story house and a simple roof, ...but it freezes the computer.
Am I missing an update?
Ideas?
I'm using Snow Leopard. OSX 10.6.4 and AC 13.0

Hi Jay,
Sounds like a graphics card problem - that's what powers the 3d window. Have you checked to see if there is a newer graphics card driver for your system?
Good luck with getting to grips with ArchiCAD again!

Hi Peter,
Well, I tried it again, ...no problems that time. You will see that I have two graphics cards, both rather powerful and each with a large fan. Seems the fans draw in dust, which can cake the cooling fins, leading to an abrupt, systemic, lack of enthusiasm.
Thank you for good wishes.
ArchiCAD is like French, it comes back quickly when, or if, immersed.

I have forgotten most of the "words" to the language of ArchiCAD
