DO NOT INSTALL JAVA UPDATE 3 ON MAC

We have found that installing the latest "Java for Mac OSX 10.6 Update 3" (this one) causes numerous problems for ArchiCAD:

- In ArchiCAD 13, you will not be able to save/publish to PDF format anymore
- You will not be able to submit crash reports anymore (both on 13 and 14)

If you have not installed this update yet, please do not. We are working on finding a solution in case you already did.

I'll keep you posted on this problem

I use v12 and as for now almost any publishing attempt will crash ArchiCad. This goes for both PDF and DWG. Even the proposed workaround (printing to PDF directly from the layout/saving as dwg from the model) results in similar problems on one workstation.

Anyway; this is a very severe problem that has crippled our office in regards of delivering our drawings in in time.

We desperately need a hotfix for v12. When will it come?

Jon,

It will come soon, and the best workaround until that is documented here:

On Mac, ArchiCAD is (by default) installed under ~/Applications/Graphisoft
On Windows, it's under Program Files/Graphisoft
